Unfortunately, regular versions of Windows won't run on Apple's new processor lines, and you have to use a version of Windows that runs on ARM-based processors like the M1. As of this writing, you can't use Boot Camp to create a dual-boot M1 Mac, but software company Parallels released a version of its Desktop software that runs Windows 10 within MacOS. In November 2020, Apple announced it would begin selling Macintosh computers with Apple's own M1 chip, rather than using Intel's processors. This Option key feature is available either when booting from a powered-off state or if you're rebooting from Windows. Use the arrow keys to select a partition, and press Enter to boot to it.

Within a couple of seconds, the Mac should present the two partitions to you on the screen. To do this, press the Option key on the Mac while it's on the blank white boot screen. If the Mac was powered off, you can choose which partition to boot before the Mac selects for you. In the Startup Disk, choose the 'Windows on BOOTCAMP' partition, and click 'Restart.' Then, confirm your choice to reboot to Windows. Nonetheless, it is a valid workaround for those who need Windows on their Mac.If you're in macOS, you can switch to the Windows partition using the Startup Disk utility within System Preferences. As you can imagine, performance and stability might not be as good as natively running the operating system. However, Windows will run in a virtual sandbox that you run on top of macOS rather than booting into a dedicated Windows environment. It's currently on Parallels Desktop 18, which introduced a host of improvements when it was released last year. Parallels Desktop, for example, can run Windows 11 on your MacBook Pro just fine. If you're really keen on running Windows OS on your MacBook Pro (2023), then you can resort to virtualization. So dual-booting macOS and Windows is no longer officially possible.

While there are Windows machines with Arm chips, these come with the OS pre-installed. The Boot Camp app has been removed from M-powered machines simply because Windows for Arm isn't available to download from the web.
